January 23

So, it's been like two months since my last blog post, and I figure that I should probably get back on the band wagon, so here I go!!

This was my mustache at the end of No Shave November.  I kept it for like two weeks, but then I tried to trim it and it was completely ruined.  I really miss that mustache.  I figure I'll grow it back starting mid-February.

My birthday was December 9th.  It was a really great day.  I was on HCG, so I couldn't eat anything, so I got a water bottle cake!  I didn't get a picture of it, but rest assured--that cake was the bomb.  Finals were the week after my birthday.  I did well--way better than my first two semesters of college!

The days leading up to Christmas were full of parties, family, and food.  It was really great to be able to go to my Gibson Family Christmas party as well as the party my brothers and sisters had for just the adults in my immediate family.  We ate great food and played Quelf, which is quite possibly the best game ever.

Christmas was amazing even though it was on a Sunday.  I got a lot of great clothes and gadgets, and I got to give my parents the book of genealogy that I have been working on for quite some time.  It was really neat to see their faces. These are pictures from Christmas morning.

I got a sweet new video camera, which will be great for my new desire to be a YouTube star.  I'm going to start making videos any day now, I just need to find the motivation and write up a schedule so I know what to talk about!  Hopefully, it will all pan out.  I have some friends that are partners on YouTube and they gave me some advice as to how to make my videos popular.  It would be great to get some supplemental income from that!

On the 31st of January, my brother Jared's mother died.  Lawana was such a great woman.  I remember when Jared and Callie started dating.  I would go over to their house and she would always treat me just like one of her own.  I can't even name all of the movies that I borrowed from them!  The funeral had a wonderful turn-out.  It was a great way to memorialize such an important person.

After her funeral, it was time for me to come back to Cedar for school. I am taking 14 credits this semester.  My classes are: Spanish 1, Western Civilization, Developmental Psychology, Intro to Diversity, Book of Mormon, and I am in OPUS and Concert choir once again.  Thus far, the semester has been surprisingly busy, so I'm not exactly looking forward to seeing how crazy it will get.  Here are my books (except Spanish):
Let's just say I have a lot of reading to do.

Speaking of reading, I read one of the greatest books ever written this last week.  It is called The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.  I can't even explain to you how awesomely awesome this book is.  It is about two teenagers with terminal cancer, and it is just a masterpiece of modern literature.  I pre-ordered it, so I got a signed copy!!

Right now, I am reading The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury.  It is a collection of short stories, and it is phenomenal.  My best friend, McGuire suggested it to me on the mission, and I can't believe that I have waited this long to actually digest it.

Speaking of companions, I got a new roommate for the semester.  His name is Dallan, and he is from Ohio and Idaho.  He's a really cool guy that gets all the ladies.  He's in the student association at SUU, so I get to know when all of the fun things are going down.  Thus far, it has been great, so here's to hoping that I won't drive him crazy haha

Well, right now it is snowing, which really blows.  I can't wait to walk in it tomorrow! (my car's broken)

Well I guess that's where I'll stop for now.  Hopefully I'll do this next week!

Peace.
